Dr. Benjamin Malakoane is a highly experienced Family Physician and Medical Director with over 25 years in primary healthcare and more than a decade in senior healthcare and government management roles. He holds an MBChB from MEDUNSA/Sefako Makgatho University (1990), a Master of Family Medicine (1998), and a PhD in Community Health from the University of the Free State (2022).
Dr. Malakoane combines clinical expertise with extensive leadership experience, having served as Free State MEC of Health, CEO of Bloem Water Board, and Municipal Manager at Matjhabeng. He is proficient in primary healthcare management, patient care, child care, frail care, palliative care, and rehabilitative care.
He has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts in BMC Health Services Research and African Health Sciences Journal, demonstrating strong research capabilities in health systems strengthening.
